Volunteers are an invaluable component to what we do here at CFLR. They are the manpower that helps us to deliver programs and services to more people in more communities throughout the Mohawk Valley.
Not every volunteer opportunity is a one-size-fits-all, which is why we ask each of our volunteers to complete an application. From there, we can find the opportunity match that is most rewarding and fulfilling for you and best serves our audiences.
Our prevention services reach into schools across the area with classroom presentations, teacher and parent in-services, and health fairs. Our volunteers are an integral part of delivering information in those settings.
Our Compeer program offers individualized mentoring to children as well as adults who are dealing with mental health issues. The need for volunteer mentors is constant as our waiting list is always long. Spending an hour a week over coffee, going for walks, etc. is such a simple task, but means the world to someone who needs companionship.
Our recovery aftercare programs in Utica, Rome, and Herkimer are always looking for talented individuals who would like to share their hobbies and pastimes with our groups. If you would like to present a one-hour workshop for our participants, please call us.
Other volunteer opportunities come and go throughout the year. You can choose your hours, your activities, and how much you want to get involved. If you'd like to know more, call 315.733.1709.
